Billingsgate Basketball tourney
The 14th annual Billingsgate/Charter School Basketball tournament, sponsored by the Wellfleet recreation department and Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School, will be March 17 to 19 at Wellfleet Elementary School and Nauset Regional High School.
Games will be played elimination-style Friday and Saturday, culminating in championship games Sunday.
Team categories and costs are as follows: fifth- and sixth-grade recreation teams, single elimination, $60; seventh- and eighth-grade invitation-only, four games guaranteed, $150 or $225 for two teams; high school existing recreation, double elimination, $100; high school open, single elimination, $160; and adult, single elimination, $160.

There is a minimal entry fee for spectators. The concession snack bar at the Wellfleet Elementary School will be run by the Mustard Seed Kitchen, with proceeds benefiting that non-profit group.
Chamber announces newly designed golf guide
The Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Northeast Publications, has issued 60,000 copies of its 2006 Annual Golf Guide to Cape Cod, "The Golf Coast."This 72-page, full-color glossy magazine provides all the information golf enthusiasts will need to plan their golfing trips to Cape Cod. For the first time, a digital, interactive version of the book will be available online at www.capecodgolfcoast.com.
The magazine includes course reviews from participating golf courses, a golf map and directory and a new expanded section on lodging, dining and activities. The guides will be distributed at golf expos throughout New England.
Guides will also will be available on and off-Cape, including the Cape Cod Chamber's Hyannis welcome center at the junction of routes 6 and 132 and the Route 25 visitor center in Plymouth. In addition, they will be on shuttle flights between Washington D.C., New York and Boston.
"Cape Cod is a-one-of-a-kind golfing destination," said John Cherry, the chamber's vice president of golf and sports marketing.
Pan Massachusetts Challenge registration
Registration for the 27th annual Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, a bike-a-thon to raise money for the Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber Cancer Institute, is open.The event will be Saturday, Aug. 5, and Sunday, Aug. 6, and is open to 4,000 cyclists. This year's goal is to raise $24 million.
Cyclists choose from eight routes that pass through 43 towns, including from Sturbridge to Provincetown (192 miles), Sturbridge to Bourne to Wellesley (180 miles) and Sturbridge to Wellesley (70 miles). Minimum fund-raising requirements range from $1,300 to $3,300, depending on the route selected.
Riders can register online at www.pmc.org. There is a $150 registration fee, and support services, including meals and overnight accommodations, will be provided.
