For the 2005-2006 school year, CCLCS has adopted the acronym BEACON to describe the kind of school culture and community we strive for.

      A BEACON is defined as:
1. A signaling or guiding device, such as a lighthouse, located on a coast.
2. A source of guidance or inspiration.

      Ms. Pace, our Writer-in-Residence, has written the following poem:
I will
Become a bright light,
Expand my horizons, shining,
Aspire to greater heights,
Communicate clear signals,
Open my eyes and be aware. I will
Navigate the waters of knowledge.

      There are additional themes that go along with being a BEACON:
